Ive finally collected all the parts I need to build my 84 Trickstar. All the parts im using are going to be black or silver. Does anyone know what were the first colours available as I cant make my mind up what colour to paint or powder it, was originally white with no peg bosses on the forks. Also when it was built the rear dropouts where the wheel slots in have not been rounded off on one side, I dont know if I should leave it original with the unfinished dropout or file it out.
Cheers :daumenhoch:

Not sure on the colours but I reckon you should leave the dropout. Gives it a bit of character and shows how high the demand was bitd. That is not the first imperfection I have heard of on Trick Stars...some shockers got past quality control!
Look forward to seeing a pic or two :daumenhoch:

What you mean regarding the rear drops? You have a picture?
The first trick stars with no fork pegs were only made in chrome as far as I'm aware. After that when they had pegs and started painting them you could get them in...
Chrome
White
Metal flake blue
Metal flake red
Baby blue
Pink
Purple reign
... Futuristic black came later... 85/86

The baby blue changed to a darker shade of blue When production went overseas in 86

Lovely colours all of them...I LOVE the candy blue and red :daumenhoch:

Wouldn't mind seeing some pics of said dropouts , as already stated , some funny looking Trickstars made it out the door ....
Think the baby blue might have changed to Hawaiian blue in 86

Its always been white. I knew the shop owner who sold it new, and the forks have no bosses and still have the original paint. I sprayed the frame in 1996 and it went flat as it was too cold so I never got around to repainting it or prepping the forks. Im shit at this posting pics lark but I will try to learn this week.

Photos are easy dude. Just get a photobucket or similar hosting account. Copy and paste the IMG code here :daumenhoch:

The first photos I saw of the '84 TS were in BMX Action magazine. No pegs on the forks and it was finished in chrome.
Here's a test in BMX Plus! magazine from January '85. Bear in mind that most articles made it into the mags many months after the photo shoot.
