Colin never recovered from the 'moving van ramp' jump which injured him quite badly, and yes, a sad loss.

Pretty cold that they're calling it funny.

Pretty cold that they're calling it funny.

I've watched that over and over again, still can't see why it would even be considered as funny looks like he broke everything from the foot up to the waist   You got to wonder why they thought it would work and why they didn't do it on soft ground at least  :idiot2:  RIP.

Mental video, he's looking like he's overshooting the landing Seth Enslow style, but just puts it down in time.

There's some good footage that was shot for an Offspring video using motorbikes to tow in riders. The photos in Snap were awesome, Stribey blowing his shoes about 50 foot off of his feet after a mid air bail from his cruiser, Meranda and a few others were there as well. I think Nasty got a mate to build him a kicker for it, but the lip was so steep and would have sent him into outerspace and he went home early. Sadly I can't find the mag to scan the pics. Zed you've got loads of Snap's havent you, can you find it?

The moving van jump clip makes me feel sick every time I watch it, not funny at all.........

RIP colin. :(

One of my all time heros, Colin Winkelmann......   :4_17_5:

Arguably the first person to pull a double flip jump, way back in 95, and the boss of all big gaps   ;)

Those jumps all began with a DC shoes commercial, he got so into it they just kept stretching the gap. Once it went past 100ft they knew he was on to summat   :daumenhoch:

The Ramp Van stunt was born from a small version using a Kart, which i'm pretty sure he flipped.  The Ramp Van was mad. Truly mad. No way to judge speed, or the attitude off the lip  (as Colin wasn't in control of the speed obviously).  Apparently he skyed 40ft straight up, I reckon that video supports that.  An unfortunate kick off the lip and it all went tits up.

I don't know the reasons behind his suicide, of course we will never know.

A massive loss to the world, he is sorely missed.

Colin Winkelmann R.I.P.
