...........ever available to buy as a complete bike?
If it was, does anyone has a scan of it in a magazine?
-
i sure it was a f&f, the later ones where completes
-
Have you seen these cable clips before? They have 'Torker' stamped on them, that's why I wondered if the Freestylist came as a complete :-\

C'mon on Moose,
Your pic is the equivalent of a down the blouse photo, pull the camera back and show us the complete package :LolLolLolLol:
-
:LolLolLolLol: I've sent you a couple of little pictures :daumenhoch:
-
i have an action bike with a picture of the "freestylist" in the trick stuff section
but no scanner
looked like a complete bike was available though!
-
Can you tell what parts?

i'll dig the mag out in a bit and have a look. i was reading it the other day
it was billed to be bike that the hottest uk trick team were gonna ride. andrew and terrance. not sure if they did though. well not as a team
-
you'll feel the back of my hand with backchat like that
-
What were the bars like Andy?
-
those bars were well nice
-
I remember the bars now, I think I remember seeing them in a magazine ad or something like that :daumenhoch:
-
Anyone know where to get those small brake cable clips, have PRO X in the middle of collecting parts, would look a lot better than tape or cable ties?????
-
I reckon it only came as F+F , Got this pic , Itson bars ,tuffs, etc . Cable guides probs off another torker , just a guess , ......Yeah great photo phil..... ;D

That's funny the ad says ' soon to be seen on this side of the water ' and somebody said the other night the freestylist was made in England ???
Right or wrong ?
-
The other reason i was thinking it might be a 'complete' was, except for the bars and grips that are later additions, the choice of parts are very 'middle of the road' similar to what you might expect to find on a complete? SR Seatpost clamp, spider, chainring & pedals. Dia-compe 890 brakes, Araya rims with suzue hubs, Suntour power stem?
The thing is, if it's not a complete I really want to strip it of the parts (to use on other bulids) and give it a restoration job.

My Torker was stock when i got it Phil and apart from the seat, pedals and grips looks to be the same parts as that. Does the seat have a Torker sticker on the back?
-
No Torker sticker on the seat Bob, but it also may be a later addition. ???
Those pedals were common on complete freestylers ('84 GT Pro performer for example) so it may be that they might be one diference? ???
Thanks for the information anyway Bob, I'm now starting to think it was either offered as a complete bike or a shop has put one together using virtually all the parts from another complete (say a 280 prox).

i asked some of these question a while back when i was buildig my freestylist , especially about the cross handle bars and some one sent me a picture of them but iv deleted it , would still love some thou but have only ever seen one set and that was maybe 10 years ago. who had that picture
-
I remember seeing those bars way back in a mag and liked them so much I got my dad to braze a cross into a pair of vector copies...
Will be up at his at the weekend. Will see if I can find them..
Not quite what you guys are looking for, I know, but I'll see if I can get them.
Brian.

just found this pic of a freestylist in a cutting out of an old freestyle bmx (i think!)
sorry about the quality, it's a photograph of a page (don't have a scanner at home).

any use?
Brian.
ps, is that you jeff?
-
I always though that frame set was well cool and really, to me, epitomised 80's freestyle bikes along with the white Redline Prostyler
-
the cross bars you are talking about where made by a company called mirage.
thats all i remember about them.
