My mate Rory had a Decade, he used to get about 7/8 feet on it on the halfpipe at Rosyth back in 86. Good bikes although that one was knackered. Didn't they used to sell them in Halfords??
Cheers

Coming together nice, very late 80's colours :daumenhoch:
-
looks nice
and wot frame is it based on then the decade
-
based on a mongoose decade?
-
ok thought it may have had the standy bits welded onto a race frame or somit like that lol
-
the front is probably regular mongoose style
but the drops are different
it's pretty much mongoose geometry though
seat post bolt upright
-
Its the 87 Mongoose Decade pictured at the top of the thread, was mint green, then purple and now black.
Something similar to this:

Just need some forks, I can re-frame my lads bike now.
(he's riding a cheapo, long top tube halfords special, and is after a streetbeat)
I think this fs-1 will do him, with some white mags on.
Just got to get it over here 1st from US.
Chris :daumenhoch:
-
oh mate do me a favour and take some close up shots of those downtube stickers for me!! i need to redraw them.
here's mine so far. i have almost all the parts. i just got to polish a few bits, and build a wheel then i can assemble it. i could do with an old centerpull brake though
(http://30cms.co.uk/temp/z/mongfs1.jpg)
i had it powdercoated that colour
-
i thought the decade was based on the fs-1 but with extra standing bits at the back?
-
Im not sure which came first.
Had a look on net for mongoose decade & fs-1 details, didnt come up with much.
Ive only ever seen decades in UK, maybe fs-1 was US version?
Dunno Im not sure on the heritage.
Maybe some freestyle mongoose expert can fill us in?

-
fs1 came first. in 1986
then the decade. which was pretty damn similar
-
nice build and coming together well :daumenhoch:
-
Anyone got any scanned details on the decade & the Fs-1 re: 86/87
Looking good ruler, how many other goose's have you?

-
Reynolds sticker on the inside tube?
I saw that - it's what aroused my interest ;) :LolLolLolLol:
If you get some decade forks and want to sell those, let me know. Not sure what they are, but they look interesting :daumenhoch:
-
Just spoke to brother, whos bike it is.
Reynolds 501 - early 90's forks,
replaced due to cousin loosing them back when he rebuilt it early 90's and painted it that mk1 ford escort purple colour.
Chris 8)
-
Cheers Chris
They look like the forks sold on those generic twin top tube freestylers sold by Faze 7 and Rebel etc.
Look good for an old school rider? :-\
-
looking good ruler, how many other goose's have you?
Ive still got ur Expert.
that expert was a really nice frame
i traded the whole bike complete with dan h. for my dream bike!
other goosewise, i have a late 90's supergoose on the blend, a new school generic goose, a 99 hooligan and an 81 motomag. i am a goose fan. i think they always make consistently good bikes.
not often blinding great but always above average
-
Ive got the Expert - tuff2's in black etc.
A ratty Cali - no stickers - rider
FS-1 on the way.
In the same house my brother has
Cali with yellow tuff2's - my avatar.
87 Decade now black and pink
And my cousin has that minty 87 Decade
And thats just the Goose collection :D
Will get a line up later in summer.
