Anyone remember the GT Hybrid? Came out around 87 or 88. It was a 20" frame, similar to a Performer but had gears, maybe even a bash plate. It was meant for BMX/MTB/Trails. I remember riding one in Newquay at a skate shop. Haven't had much luck turning up any info on one since, i'd imagine they're quite rare.
