I think that could Guisbrough track nr Middlesbrough.
It looks like Tuckers Diamond Back team getting RAD...
Nice one :)
-
Yeah I think your right Bren, I had no idea so just guessed at Reditich because it was the first track, but a few of the members on bmx talk have said Guisbrough too :coolsmiley:
-
its been a long time since i saw the redditch track. the layout looks right though
-
Deffo not Redditch. In fact not a midlands track that I recognise and I rode most of 'em. I'd go for further north judging from that lads accent.
-
I raced a Guisbrough a few times in the early 80's - it had a really long first straight - left handed 180 first turn - I think that's a good guess but I thought there were more trees around...
I think everytime I went there it rained - never seen it sunny before!
It was one of the more remote tracks in the NE... layout of the track looks right.
-
i think you might be right i hav lived in redditch all my life and i cant see any
burnt out cars or riots in the background ;D
-
I am pretty sure it's Guisbrough, I live a 1/2 hour drive away, and used to race that track about once a month ;)
-
I don't think it's reditch .. but my memorys not so good :-\
-
Reddich wasn't on land as flat as that. Going off the pics I've got at home, the redditch track was sort of cut in to the ground a bit more so you had banks/walls of earth on the sides of the track in places. Guisborough looks a possibility as the track did bend to the right from the start hill followed by a left hand berm, where Redditch was straighter followed by a right hander. I've got some diagrams of both tracks I drew for a talk a school, I'll post them up tonight.
-
i have just had a look at the footage of that track i have no idea on where it is but it is good to see old films like that so much has changed over the years 8)
-
Sorry mate definately not Redditch, no bombhole, I would say North East by the sound of the accent although the furthest north I got in the 80s was the immingham track so I may be wrong. Matthew Kelly working with kids, imagine that!!
-
dont know why i only just seen this, definately not redditch but cool anyway
