May have been covered before but I was just driving home flicking through my ipod when a tune came on that takes me back to my favourite time in BMX.
BITD behind my parents place is a huge chalk pit that was quarried to build the M27/M275/Port Solent etc etc..... Up there the older guys had started building a track & when I got my first "real" BMX (Yes Titan Dominator!) I was there as much as I could be. Man I lived up that fookin place. In the summer & school holidays there would be like 50-100 people there, riding & hanging out. We would all chip in whatever few pence we had for batteries for my friends stereo but the only decent (well, we thought it was) tapes we had were the soundtracks to the 2 Breakdance movies so we played the shit out of them constantly!!!
I love BMX now, it has taken me places I'd never have gone, met people I'd never have met & given me sooo much BUT if I could go back there I would, it was when BMX was perfect for me & the song that will always take me back there is by Carol Lynn Townes called 99 1/2. Such good times.
Long winded I know...........
pps: the council built house there about 8yrs ago & for all the memories I have from there Im not to proud to say it made me cry! :'(

I like any track that's been used in a soundtrack to any bmx vid from the bitd. Anything from BMX Beat, Kelloggs, Aggroman, Head first, Ride On & any other TV clips too.
There's been some dodgy tunes which I still like cos it reminds me of the riding vids. Prince - Let's Go Crazy, Dire Straits - Walk of Life, Gloria Estefan - Conga to name but a few...
-
Prince - Let's Go Crazy,
whats wrong with that ? bestriding tune ever

most of the early electro albums were great, Electro 4 had Cybertron - Techno City into The VHB's - Beethovens 5th Street symphony. They were played over and over round our way. Oh yeah and that real classic Herbie Hancock - The Rockit, what a tune.
That was bitd day, but how about now, should we have a new post, Music to look at bikes in the loft to ;D
