Well Summers here, round 1 of the OSS kicked off at Dagenham in style today, 16 entries made it a packed class with some great racing.
Was blinding to see some new faces entering the series and kicking some butt.
Well done QuadPaul on taking the win, it was bloody close mate.

It was a really great day today!
I got 1st in the B final, pipping Tony 796 my about 3 mm, If the track was 2 foot longer he'd have got the win.
Really great to see a few of my old mates there from when I raced back in the 80's, 1 of whom is back in the saddle already, and hopefully the 2nd will be riding again soon.
Weather was great, racing was really good, everyone had a great time I recon.

It was a pucka days racing today, and as Ratty said it was great to see a few new faces join in the fun. I am knackered tonight as I have ridden at all for 7 weeks, it is amazing how quickly you loose your fitness.
I think I can fill in a couple of blanks in the A final for ya Ratty. Sam came 5th and I came 6th.
Roll on Hersden next week

I think The Crooch (Simon Croucher) got 8th in the A-final after slipping a pedal down the first straight.
Old School and 40+ were the biggest classes of the day with 2 full gates of 8 each :daumenhoch:

what a great day , was the first race ive done since being a kid loved it
although me shoulder and knee ache sure there be fine for next weekend though
bit of confusion near the end for me didnt realise i was in the b final so packed up ready to shoot off for a familly meal glad i got me gear back on
good to meet all you fellas today
think im gonna change to me supergoose 3 see how that handles me goose seemed a bit twitchy today not that it will make me any faster i will still be last :LolLolLolLol: hopefully handle a lot better though

I was loving the yellow goose and the early jmc, now they are old school. :smitten: They still looked dangerious for me to ride, maxium props for thanking them round.

Sounds like a top day again for the OSSS 08 first meeting well done :daumenhoch:. I cant wait to watch the old fools at bradford next weekend.
If anybody was there today and they where thinking they wished they could have a go. then have a look in the for sale section for an elf pro its perfect for OSSS and cheap as chips. :daumenhoch:

I come 12th/ 4th in B final(plate 214). Sholud have been 3rd but 25 years out of the saddle and that last straight just killed me legs..
Was an ace day out for all the family,and me and my son will be racing as much as poss this season. See you all next round.

Was totally stoked to make the A final in my first race for 20 years...
Thanks for noting that Mike - yes last but a massive slip of the pedals (anyone want some Black Vans Hi tops - soon to be flying towards the bin :2gunsfiring_v1: :2gunsfiring_v1:) as i was about to hit the first whoops at warp factor 1.5 so just about managed to stay on.
And thanks to the guys in the Masters taking sneaky side bets on whether 1. I'd snap the JMC (i didnt she handled lovely, just too short for me) and 2. whether the ancient Dura Ace cranks would last as well (they did - though they'll be up for sale in the next week) and ill have me flites ready for then i hope.
anyway - thanks again for all the nice words and general bloody nice chaps and chapesses!
oh BTW think the missus has got the bug as well - this is so going to hurt my Bank Balence!

Not too bad mate. Managed to scrape into the A-final, but finished last. Just happy to make it to the A though, as that was a goal for the season, and it was a pretty stacked class today. Only Jon Moore dominated, with everyone else swapping places in different motos. I was a bit lucky that Keith Wilson and Phil Beer crashed in my second moto so I got a 4th, but we all need a bit of luck from time to time, and I still needed to pull a 3rd out of the bag in the 3rd moto, and did, so I was happy.
Had some good tussles with Jay Harvey as he was in all my motos and A-final. He blew the doors off in Moto 1 with a first, but I beat him in the 2nd and 3rd motos, then he beat me in the final. It was good racing against the reigning OSSS No.1 though :daumenhoch:

Great racing today, not at Hersden due to alcohol commitments but should be at Andover.

What a quality day's racing on Sun and the weather held off for us which was such a result after the forecast all week.
Really enjoyed the on track battles I had all day with Zippy, Ratty & Gaz, boy it's gonna be close this year with us all swapping places all through the moto's.
Also well done to the new additions to the OSS and especially Crooch making the A Main on his 1st outing, nice 1 simon once you start keeping your feet on the pedals you'll be up there mixing it at the front as well :4_17_5:
Also good to watch the 40+ boys going at it and have to agree with Mike's comments on another thread that they where the class to watch on the day along with the OS for good close races, so well done everyone :4_17_5: :daumenhoch:
