Title: Torker Trick Team 1985 reformed
Post by: andy irwin on January 08, 2006, 06:29 PM
Hi All
Just thought I would let you know the Torker trick team were reunited after a small lay off of 20 years . I had just got back from spain on Wednesday and one of the first things I did was open my emails and to my suprise there was a e mail from Terry Jenkins With his phone number. He said he had been in the UK since the 26th of December and only had my old mobile number and was going back to la la land on Monday. Well as I hadnt seen TJ for 20 years I drove to Liverpool today to see him and meet his partner Victoria . Well I have always stayed in touch with his Mum and late Dad as they were my surogate parents for a few years (poor them) I had a great time talking about the old days  and Terry has not changed a bit even though he is 40 next year lol .
Terry is doing really well in LA and is just about to make a big splash with his drifting team so check out his web site. I think TJ is going to get back on to rad a little moe often as he misses the old school bmx sceen. All in all It was a great day ( except for the parking ticket) and I am going to get him and Victoria to my place in spain before the next 20 years sneaks up on us.

Hey Andy, if you do see Terry, ask him if this was true.
One of my mates, who coincidentially now owns a Torker, reckons he saw Terry jump out of the bowl, and onto the railings around the skate board park in Edge Lane (Liverpool).
There was also a young Chinese kid around at the same time, I remember he was pretty trick too, think he rode a Kuwa, who was he ?

I never saw Terry jump onto the fence myself but I woudnt be suprised ,he owned that place. I know the kid you are talking about he rode with us a lot and Terry mentioned his name the other day (wongy) or something like that he was a cool kid and I remember he could ride a bit too.

Nice bike your mate has it brings back a few memories.

Andy, did the Chinese kid ride a Kuwahara, it may even have been him who jumped onto the railing !

No sorry I went through a messy divorce a few years ago and the devils spawn :2gunsfiring_v1: (no hard feelings) set fire to all my pics and vids so I could do with getting some myself if anybody has any. She was also the reason i left G T as she never liked me going away to do demos or go on tour, but now she has gone back to the couldren :daumenhoch: i am going to start again, the pic on the left was taken last week in spain on my nephews bike. Terrys mum has a load of pics so I will see what I can do next time I go to liverpool.

Nice one Billy, Still in Southport but will make a serious effort to get to see the old school boys again. Billy do you remember the first time you spoke to me was to tell me you had just seen me on tv at a service station in a advert for the kellogs? I do and was stoked that a skyway rider was aware that I existed (where not worthy) lol.

LOL, that must have been before that interview that you and Terry did where you had a go at everyone basicly, I only read it for the first time last year when I bought some old mags of e-bay. :LolLolLolLol:

Seriously though it must have been before I got a bit too big for my boots, I was a bit of a shit towards the end of my time with Skyway, must say though you were the first person to contact me since those days when you sent that e-mail though friends reunited, just took me about a year to reply  :(

Yeah mate I get enough stick out of pike for that but it was all just to cause a reaction and get us noticed, some how I dont think Dave Curry or Darren Tudge  will think it was a good idea . Andy Preston (one handed santa) who got the most stick has turned out to be one of my best mates for the last 20 years and at one point he had a picture of me and TJ on his number plate stood in a saucepan  ;D but for the record Andy and Mike were great riders and ambasadors for bmx and I should have kept my gob shut . Dave Curry was a mad man and had more bottle than almost anyone on a bmx and Darren Tudge could bunnyhop  higher than anybody except  Dave Vanderspeck I think.

Well the bowls still there in the park we should try and get some of the lads who went there years ago for a look at us now pic lol before they build on that land .  It's a shame as the bowl  looks abit ruff but it wouldn't  take much to repair it
