Sanmarcopizza, HEYWOOD BMX, Carcosmet and I showed up to try it out!!!

Its a good track.   Tis like a roller coaster.

Manchester BMX Track - Directions

Manchester BMX Track is situated in Platt Fields, Fallowfield, Manchester. The track is accessible from Wilmslow Road, just north of the junction with Wilbraham Road.

There are 5 roads leading to the park entrance, take any of the roads that are accessible (2 are one way) and the park entrance is at the end of Mabfield Road.

Yep, it's here already.  This Sunday sees our first race take place at Platt Fields.  It's been a long road, so it's exciting to see it
finally up and running.  Still a few drainage problems to overcome, but it seems to be in hand now.
 
For those wishing to take part, we'll have classes for Old Skool, MTB specific classes and Novice racing.  Same times apply for
everyone.  Be there between 10am and 11am to sign on and racing starts at Midday.  Novice racing is £5.00 and everyone else is
£7.00.
 
We've got medals for novices and the top 3 in the kids and teens races will receive a trophy.  Red Bull will be there with the big
Wig Wam and free drinks for the riders.  Trof, a local restaurant/Cafe/Bar will be on site proving a DJ, sound system and trackside
catering.  Trof will are also sponsoring the trophies including rider of the day and the winner of the Payback class plus £50.00.
Impressive aint it!!
 
For those with the time, we'll be on site from around 8am getting everything set up on Sunday morning.  More the merrier really,
so come on down and be part of some Manchester BMX history.

I got to go to the Tatton Park VW Show on Sunday to pitch a few cars for sale so i can raise some £unds to get my business back on channel, i have also been asked to do a bit of judging..

Was fookin mad at the track last night. Must have been close to 70 riders there.

Creamy and I have selected our weapons to do battle with!!!

He has opted for a Yellow GT Performer with Yellow Simplex Mags to match his teeth!!

I have decided on a Yellow Redline with Black Sun Box Wheels to match my cowardly streak and my cold, dead, heart!!!

I told Creamy that I was going to make him eat my dust.    He said "I dont care if you beat me, I just go for the Craic and the fun of the racing"

Thats loser talk in my opinion!!!   

The battle of minds has been won already!!!

There won't be an A final Ian  ;)

It'll be Grand prix system so you have to try every race to do well  :crazy2:

Thing is like you said you are still guaranteed a top 8 finiish  8)

I'm gutted I'm missing out on this,
 it's the only Round I've missed and it's only about 30 mins away

I've considered using my loopy  but it's still built up with it's blingy bits

I shall congratulate Johnny boy Transvestentire now as all he has to do  , is do each race , but I hope he wins in style   8)

It was Grand Prix.  

I think Big and Phil C might have swopped places on a couple of Motos so those 2 positions might be wrong!!

But I think that is close to the final results.

The top 3 riders in each class got a medal too!!!  :daumenhoch:

Unfortunately Mark Egan crash out in the Final while in 4th Place.   Mark said he needed to be 3rd to win the Series so he would have missed out even if he didn't crash!!  :(

Went down to cheers you boys on today.Only saw a few races due to getting totally lost and it taking an hour to get there from Sale.(if only i knew to turn left at the queen of hearts pub)Really impressed with the track and the way the meet was held.

Took my dad down to watch,the last time he was watching bmx was back in 84 at Barton.He couldnt believe how the tracks and style of riding had changed.He loved it.

Some excellent racing yesterday!!

And an excellent series overall!!!

The weather for the series was hardly deserving of the title Summer Series.

I think only Hartlepool was rain free!!

So roll on the winter series!!

Sorry to have missed the racing Yesterday guys... Glad we got a GATE together just...

Its my birthday tomorrow and Emma had arranged birthday lunch and other stuff for yesterday...
..and having been down to MK the week before I was kinda under pressure.

Even having missed a few rounds I have to say the Summer Series has been absolutely awesome,
the Northern Monkeys have done Old School racing proud... decent numbers at almost every round,
and we have regularly had A & B Finals...  8)

The level of riding has increased loads since last Winters series which only a handful of us took part in.

Really looking for to the WINTER 08/09 Series... 1 race a month should suit me fine...  :daumenhoch:

Gonna be getting plenty of practice in over the next few weeks.

Thanks to all the riders who have taken part this summer... the riding has been great and the banter even better...

AWESOME.... long may it continue...

I haven't a clue!!

But Creamy gave his size (XXXXXXXXL) to the lady and he has done 4 rounds.

I have done 5 rounds!!

When I talked to the lass at Leeds she said that if your didn't race enough to qualify for a Shirt you can still have one but you have to pay towards it!!!

Contact North Region BMX and ask 'em!!!  :daumenhoch:
