Found these in a photo album recently so thought I would share
Dave Young at the Oval in Washington October 1988. The place had 4 quarter pipes and they used to get set up under the skylights so you could get a bit of extra height (if your insane). Cute how the height markers go up the wall and then into the skylight don't yer think.

Fooking nice one!
I'd only seen a smaller version of the first pic and never realised he was up in a skylight, quality how the markings went up into the skylight.

nice bloke Dave n great pics, is it true his middle name is "notso" now?
I always thought his middle name was "ever",
but then he told me how old he was on his birthday the other week
-
Aye if yer want to work it out Daves birthdays in July and he was 20 in the pics above ;D
The skylights in the oval got more dodgy when it changed from quarter pipes to a 24' half pipe as it was easy to gauge where you were in relation to them on the quater pipes but with the halfpipe I can't remember anybody markings the transitions to show you where they were (not that that ever affected me :LolLolLolLol:)
I seem to remember one night Rocker trying to do tail taps on the edge of the skylights on his board (kind of like upside down lean to tails).

Cool pics Andy...
The 24" half pipe was great, I really enjoyed riding at Washington... good laugh and I never got hurt ;)

Nice one Dave... that spine used to scare the pants off me. I'd only got back into BMX in 1990/91, I'd never seen a one (spine) until I went to the Oval ;D
All we had in Hartlepool at the time was a mini halfpipe ;) which was nice...
