you gonna build it up,it seems everyone on vintage is keeping em boxed :wtf:
-
Build it and ride it, that's what they're for :daumenhoch:
Daz.
-
No cut outs on the forks, are they all like that ?
-
yep
-
Very nice! Grats.
-
how much?
-
Build it and give it a good thrashing :daumenhoch:
-
Can't wait to get mine now :smitten:
-
I got an email from ED my one will be with me by end of month, gonna leave it boxed and through it in the loft with the others, bit of a pisser about the fork cut outs though.
Still lovely though
-
Del does some nice Dirt Bros decals for these.
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
hope that weld by the bottom bracket looks neater in the flesh :-\
-
Looking forward to mine arriving, can't wait to build it. ;)
-
Have they got 1986 geometry?
-
they're the exactly the same as a normal TA, theonly difference is they were welded together this year. ;)
-
so jealous Glen, me, i wouldn't care how much it cost, i'd have to throw it about on a track to remind me of 85/86.
(that weld on the b/b does look a bit unsightly).
-
:-\
-
Lovely f+f set, shame about the welds but it depends how fussy you are.. :coolsmiley:
-
Who welded them?..I had an 86 TA and the welds where perfect.
Each to there own if I had paid that kinda money I would be angry.
-
I hope when mine comes that the welds are better than that, there is a load of undercut on the BB and just below the where the seat clamp goes looks like he has messed up the weld and ground it smooth.
I used to be a TIG welder and that really does look naff welding, I would complain buddy as you paid good money for that T/A
-
Looking forward to getting mine now. :daumenhoch:
-
Looks sweet from 3 foot, but close up those welds do look sus and I am personally glad I didnt take up their offer.
I'd rather get an original stripped, powdered and decaled for similar money.
-
it wasn't so much the welding, i was looking at the shiit powdercoat, we need the SBD to give his thoughts on it
-
that wouldnt have gotten passed my quality control bin i am afraid
the welding is second rate ,for selling to the public standards have not been adhered too.
ive had 20+ years in the trade and im shocked tbh.
-
hmmm, would be unhappy with them welds and powder.....but still jealous,oh how i'd love another chrome ta :smitten:
-
Those welds are fooking horrid, take it back to Halfords :'(
Ray.
-
My chrome one arrived this morning I am well pleased with it..cheers skyway :daumenhoch:

I would ask for your money back and buy an oldskool TA,
I have only seen 3 repops and they all look pretty shoddy so far weld wise..if you are returning I would ask them to pay postage and I am sure legally they should
cover that cost too.

The story with the front drop outs is that they just ran out. Andy Mcnulty and I got some tubesets off Skyway back in 99 and they had two left hand drop outs with cut outs, (easy to tell they were left as the knurling and "skyway" were on the same side when welded) then Skyway welded some frames in 2001 with two left drop outs. and now they have ran out so just cut new ones without the shaped hole.
Have a great day. K

Glen, i'd be in two minds, depends what it cost,
is the weld strong enough to take some heavy landings, if so, personally i wouldn't worry, cos at the rate i come off it wont look sweet for long
BUT if its to be a showbike and something to lovingly polish then yeah, think at the least i'd contact Skyway to see what their view is?
