since old skool finally become a recognised class where has everyone gone?
i see that only one chap turned out at bournmouth and only me nishiki14 and tony 1 4 were prepared to travel to peterborough last weekend but at the last minute the 3 of us decided against it as there was only 3 of us and we all know i would have won :4_17_5:
so when it comes to the summer will any one be racing or is it time to get a new skool bike ???

Move to the north, 2 gates most meets, sometimes 3 . Its colder though :LolLolLolLol:

I won't be doing old school at Regionals anymore as I've moved on to 30-39. From what I've heard quite a few of us are dropping old school, which is a good thing and a bad thing.
It's a good thing in that it allows someone else to battle for wins but it's a bad thing only if our positions are not filled by new blood.

i'm still in would have been there, but can't ride one legged....well not if i wanna win anyway :LolLolLolLol:

Could be seasonal!!
Everyone wants to be out and about in the summer. Winter is cold and crappy!!
Doesn't effect us that much up 'ere as its always grim oop north.
It could also be the long break between the Summer and Winter Series.
The North region winter series started 21 days after the Summer Series so you just get carried along with it.
Most Old Skoolers will move up to NS or Cruisers when there fitness and skill levels increase which is the way it should be otherwise you'd always get the same people winning and the series would be stagnant.
Hopefully a few newbies will join to take their place!!
North Region BMX Rules :
If after 4 rounds a class has 2 or less riders. it may be permanently merged into another class.
3 riders is enough to race. A few classes are very small.
............But if you know there is only 3 riders then it does makes you wonder why you should bothered travelling!! ???
Hopefully it will improve when the warmer weather returns!! :)

I would love to carry on with the old school, but after racing for two seasons I really want to give cruisers a go.
Lets just hope there are a few people that fancy having a bash at old school racing waiting in the wings

im putting it down to the weather - im the same with MTBing - its a means to an end thing... so i end up just doing road work instead.. will race through the winter but will pick and choose rather than doing everything that and my bank accounts are seriosuly bleeding after a summer of racing.
but i will defo be racing Cruiser at Regional level (may do a national at some point depending on where they are and if i can be bothered to put a tent up for one night)
and ill be doing Hersden on old school once the sun start to put its hat on again....
but ill be there on the 7th at Daggers... and will race OS if im allowed (not too well so - itll be down to the quack, had an incident at Cwmcarn in Wales at the weekend on the MTB and well im not over the shingles so ill have to take it easy)

I am still not sure what I'm going to do. Old school bike, newer cruiser or sit on my arse at home. OK, the last one isn't an option.
Seriously, how many an we get in the south for OS for regionals next year?

The question is............Do we still have enough riders in EA and South that want to ride OS in the summer?

Manchester was a laff but the weather was horrendous and it'll only get worse!
Everybody wants to ride in the Summer, Winter everybody just wants to hibernate!! :-\
