Title: new school tyres for an old school ride?
Post by: bigfatolly on November 26, 2008, 10:20 PM
Can anyone reccomend some nice new school gumwall tyres for an oldschool ride and where to purchase?

dont want to spend loads on nos panaracers or haro/gt only to fook them up when i go cruising down the beach.

i like the look of khe lamellos especially the grey ones but cant find any.

suggestions please!

Here ya go dude.

I like Lamellos myself but i like the amberwall ones, also Primo V Monsters again in amberwall ones though.

You can also still get Odyssey Barefeet tyres reasonably cheap.

They are fine, the ody 20x1.85 will be great on OSR as long as you are not anal about being era correct! Some maybe horrified to see NS tyres on an OSR.. Not me, them Ody's look good, I might have to get some  :)

Bru  :daumenhoch:

I think most oldschool racers would be happy using a modern tyre, you can buy them no problem and they don't cost a fortune. It's a shame Kenda skinwalls aren't available in the UK, they are cheap as chips and look the same as they did 25 years ago...

Couldn't agree more Bru :daumenhoch:

Fractured my skull using Oddysey Barefeet as I liked the look of them but they were feckin' useless. Tried a set of Primo V-Monsters and loved the grip, not the look. Eventually I imported two sets from the US with Skinwalls, and hey presto, here is my daily ramp rider >:D

Cool. Suits my odd-ball Haro a treat then as the serial number says '88 but it is suspiciously an '89 or even a '90 bike, so dipping it's toe into the Mid-School then. It certainly rides different to my OS bikes :daumenhoch:
