pretending my chopper(fnaar fnaar)was a bmx, putting hutch stickers on my not a hutch prostar
-
Gen1 freestyler... stuck haro master stickers on it when the master came out... wonky with air bubbles under em... :D
I didnt care at the time... :daumenhoch:
-
Sticking those mini Garfield cat things that were meant to go on the end of a pencil, on my valve caps.
What was all that about ?
-
I copied Andy Ruffell and the rest of the Ace team and peeled all my mongoose stickers off my frame, the fashion then was not to advertise any company
-
Where do I start.....
I stuck turquoise 89 Haro Sport stickers on my White 85 Haro freestyler... ( while it was still white! )
I had tennis balls in my spokes too...
And I put a Bell peak on my Bieffe helmet and cellotaped Moto 4 down the side :-[
-
i made myself some pink fluffy pads, sewed em myself and everything, one race in the mud and they were fooked :LolLolLolLol:
-
Putting REDLINE stickers on my Tuff Burner Tut Tut.
Love the painted whitewalls...Genius ;)
-
On my original BMX (Falcon Pro Theta)
I removed all the pads, added dice dust caps and stickered every inch of chrome in stickers
Also put on the Largest CW type Handlebars I could find!!
Bar Spins were a No No!!
I also rode whitewall shopping tyres (I didn't paint them though)!!
Luvverly!! :daumenhoch:

in a similar era to the fake barbed wire, i made the wheel discs that sat in just one spoke of your mags. (zytecs too. ;D )
-
I very nearly did a ripper in pink with custom P'in'K Ripper stickers
but managed to keep away from the pink thing whcih I am still quite happy about
-

What was all that about ?
i did that too, was only thinking about it the other day :)
-
Wheel discs !!! :wtf: nuff said ..parent`s christmas money well and truly wasted ....
-
I'm admitting nothing :-[ NOTHING!!! I tell you >:D
Ray.

the round plastic chain cover ???
covered the whole chain?
lasted about an hour before I tore the bugger of and binned it :knuppel2:
-
:) Making DIY stickers from sellotape and logos cut out of magazines...
:2funny: :2funny: LMFAO ...Forgot about doing this , but i did loads of it when the "plaster stickers everywhere " fad happened ..butchered many an issue of bmx action bike bitd :daumenhoch:
-
mmmm where do I start:
1. Making stickers from mag adverts sticking them to cardboard and applying them to my fake Haro tech plate.
2. writing Vans with pen on fake vans.
3. But this is the worst ever, Taking my beautiful white looptail '86 Ripper and painting it Lavander Hammerite F&F, Bars and even my fookin helmet. what was I thinking.
4. And recently cutting the pegs of my trickstar forks.

Sticking those mini Garfield cat things that were meant to go on the end of a pencil, on my valve caps.
What was all that about ?
i had tom chasing jerry on my ride :LolLolLolLol:
-
Playing cards in my spokes early on and an extra lever for bar-rides later on. =(
-
me +a mate cut up a pair of handlebars to make layback seatposts :wtf: seat ended up about 90 degrees from frame +4 inches above back wheel ;D
-
jackson pollacked a beautiful set of landing gear with hammerite ???
and hundreds of coloured sticky dot all over any chrome :idiot2:
-
I decided it would be a good idea to drill all over an aero saddle to make it lighter with my dads hand drill...looked a mess it did :daumenhoch:
-
cut the tops off some chopper bars and welded a straight tube across the top making my own set of cw,s
forgot to bend the ends so they were completely straight with zero sweep! :LolLolLolLol:
-
Me and a group of my mates decided to take the handlebars off our bikes and ride around without them on? ??? I dunno why but we did it for months! :D
-
Built my mate a mini super tuff burner and couldnt get a seatpole long enough so we swiped the neighbours wheelie bin (they only came out a week earlier) set fire to it and used the axle as a post. Had to pack it out with insulation tape as it didnt quite fit and it weighed a ton but it worked :idiot2:

how???????????????????
-
we un-done the four allen key bolts ;) took the bars off ;) then rode around on the bikes without bars ;) twas a balance excercise ;)
-
doooh :daumenhoch:
why????????????????????????????
-
snake chain gaurds
-
grip tape all over it
and that weird thing we all did to our front brakes by using a rear cable and tieing in down the fork leg then looping back up to attempt to botch a sort of potts mod effect
-
cutting up ice cream tubs and making a brake guard for the front brake bolt (stop ripping shoes when doing tailwhips.) used to cable tie it to the fork crown.
coke can jammed on the back tyre for 'motorbike noise' .... :idiot2: ( before i started freestyle)
:LolLolLolLol:
-
Not the bike, but my helmet.
Cut out loads of little flames out of cardboard and stuck then down the middle of the helmet in a mohican stylee.
:wtf: was I thinking of.
-
I also hade a number plate made from Weetabix box cellotaped to my bars!!
Oh my God... I also had a homemade cardboard mouthtrap cellotaped to my plastic Raliegh helmet!! :-[
-
Made me laugh that Dave... :D almost as much as the painted white walls :daumenhoch:
-
spray painted my yellow tuffs white... great until I started braking and had yellow rims
and put grip tape on my seat and holed my aero pants... right clever idea that was :-[
-
:) Making DIY stickers from sellotape and logos cut out of magazines...
your not the only one :D
-
In the very early 80's - playing cards pegged to the frame to sound like a motorbike when the wheels went round ! :-[
Not so good with tuffs though... :LolLolLolLol:
-
+ 1 on the Coke can moto-x noise mod.
roll over a can with your back wheel and hey presto moto-x :2funny:
-
who tried to put their crank and back wheel in the wrong way so the chain was on the left to see if they could pedal backwards and go in reverse?
I certainly didn't :-[

I certainly didn't :-[
Did it by accident once and went out on it for a laugh then pedaled forward not thinking and slammed my foot into the floor and it propper hurt
-
Got my Dad who was a 'fitter' at the time to make me some pegs for my mongoose, they finished up weighing more than the bike!
I am sure he used half a scaffolding pole and welded pigeon poo type blobs to them to stop my feet from slipping off.
That was my street cred down the drain - I must have had em on my bike for months before I had the guts to tell him they were shxt!!! (he was/is a big man).
I am sure I may still have them, because I hid them that well he wouldn't encourage me to put them back on again!
what do you think, stick em on ebay as a rare set of HARO'S ??? :P
-
Sticking those mini Garfield cat things that were meant to go on the end of a pencil, on my valve caps.
What was all that about ?
I had postman pat on the front and his van on the rear :2funny:
-
We all used to fix old/buggered brake levers on our forks, as home made fork-stands.
Lasted about a week tops.
-
We use to steal colored Slip-on Mini-Marker Size Dividers from hangers for clothing department store and put them on the spokes..
-
We used to nick that orange bunsen-burner rubber hose stuff from school & slip it over our tech 3's.
A free alternative to those Sharp lever covers.
Shitty colour though.
-
:) Nicking London Underground signs off the tube to make wheels slices for our mags...
-
Myself & Remo wallpapered our bikes before a BFA national @ Radlands... actually thats not naff!!! We only use wallpaper cause my Dad wouldnt let me mix up any of his artex! ;D
-
What's Artex???
-
me +a mate cut up a pair of handlebars to make layback seatposts :wtf: seat ended up about 90 degrees from frame +4 inches above back wheel ;D
lmfao
-
painting yellow simplex with blackboard paint, so they were black, and for some strange reason, my mate using yellow pads on black tuffs.
we both had the same "ring of shame" but for different reasons....
-

Ouch!! :-[
-
What's Artex???
Greg
its that white plaster stuff that looks like whipped cream, that plasterers put on their ceilings. often with a curvy or circular swishy pattern to make it look "nice"
don't know if its still fashionable. maybe its went away along with polystyrene ceiling tiles..
-
Artex Rules...my nan had the wall around the fire place done in choc brown artex in the 70's :)

actually I think its the same as Semtex but without the fun,
-
the round plastic chain cover
covered the whole chain?
lasted about an hour before I tore the bugger of and binned it
They were called a 'Pro-Gard' I think.....what a load of w4nk, any water stayed in the thing!
I had one of those BMX Magnums from tensor cycles in Darlington, I put Mongoose stickers on it. :-[
It did fool a few people though, even with the cotter-pin crank (that I was forever putting new pins in)
Also did the spray yellow tuffs black thing.
-
The painting tyres to look like white walls is still the best naffest thing so far ;D
