Title: ebay's bullsh!t exchange rates
Post by: bobafett on March 02, 2009, 03:03 PM
What is it with ebay ?
They show you an item in the US with a price in dollars and a UK price in brackets (you would assume using thier own exchange rate) and work this out to be say 1.44 for example - you then buy your nice BMX part and head to the checkout to pop in your paypal details only to find that the exchange rate has now miraculously droped to 1.39  :wtf:

I know it's only peanuts on small items but on a frame and forks with the usual insane shipping costs it soon starts to add up - it's bad enough that they hit sellers for ebay costs and then paypal costs but then the buyer gets stiffed as they cream dosh off you via a bogus exchange rate - tw@ts  >:(

Right that feels better  :LolLolLolLol:

You say it's only peanuts but it's got a Superman 3 type scam written all over it - a few pennies on every transaction, hundreds of thousand times a day every day....ebay are just robbing twats at every opportunity  :angrysoapbox:
