Title: 24 hrs
Post by: andy619 on March 19, 2009, 12:04 PM
In about 24 hrs my son and I are going to be leaving for our first trip ever to Woodward West.  It has been really hard to contain my excitement, Ethan asks me everyday "How many more days until we leave"?  I stopped riding three days ago because I didn't want to hurt myself before this weekend :crazy2:  Ethan hit the 4' jump box for the first time last week, he can't get enough speed to clear it though so I built him a 3' box about four days ago.  Ethan has been riding everyday since and he can really launch himself up there.  I told him to slow down a bit because if he does hurt himself before the trip I will leave his ass at home ;D

Well it's time, tomorrow morning we leave the house to go pick up Tony Murry, then to Lee's house to meet up with his family and Chris Potts, then an hours drive to pick up Fiola.  I bought a new digital camcorder and I have my Cannon and an Olympus point and shoot for documentation.  Normally I don't get very many pictures of myself because I am always the guy behind the camera but Lee said he will take the camera when I do my runs :4_17_5:

I'm really looking forward to riding with guys that I haven't seen for 20 + years.  I finally get to meet Zak Shaw and Simon Tabron and I am hoping to get some lessons on the big vert ramps.  Tricknuts is going to be there and I am stoked that I'll finally meet him too.

I wonder though, have I hyped this too much in my head?  I am sooo excited, am I setting myself up for disappointment?  I have envisioned all of the things that I want to do, but realistically, I probably won't be able to accomplish half of my goals.

I should have some pics to post up by Wednesday next week, and the video soon after.  I will probably have some pictures on my facebook first so some of you will get a preview.

Here is a rider list of some of the 185 riders that will be there

http://kickstandbmx.blogspot.com/

woohoo!

Wish us luck.

Andy
