tigers still look the dogs mate i'd paint them if they need to be proper white
-
if its gona be a carpet queen then paint em mate cos how ever much you bleech white skyways they never come up brite white :daumenhoch:
-
as moanjam says "tiger,s" are still mint and i painted them a year ago . and they have been riden alot and heavy braking also :-\
-
Seems silly to paint them, but if the white still looks a bit yellowy would they not be the perfect candidates for dying into another colour? Can tuff's take to dye like that? They'd look mental in baby blue or something...
-
as moanjam says "tiger,s" are still mint and i painted them a year ago . and they have been riden alot and heavy braking also :-\
Hope you weren't refering to me when you mentioned heavy breaking??
-
how long did you bleach them for neil ? i only ask as i had a set in a worse state than yours and after a week or so in bleach they came out whitey white .

defo paint them, if you do them right you will never know, its either that or have a crap looking set skyways......... ;)
-
DONT PAINT EM bleach them for a week or so, you cant paint alloy tuffs for christs sake
-
just bleach em for longer ,take out and scrub em every now and then and put em back in .cant paint alloy hub tuffs it would be proper shame
-
Longer in bleech i reckon,
just not in the bath!! otherwise you wont be smeelinmg to great by the time there done. :LolLolLolLol:
-
Neat tesco thin bleach mate. Add no water.
Leave them in there for 1 week. Take out everyday and scrub them with JIF and a kitchen abrasive cloth (green abrasive).
Over do the grease on the hubs. They shouldnt need polishing :LolLolLolLol: as they never were!
Yours will go whiter but they will never go minty white. Not like my NOS white set >:D

De lord 'as spoken ................

Dont paint them. White alloy hubbed are really hard to find now. Pass them on and get summat else if theyre not white enough for you.
-
if i remember, weren't people adding peroxide to the bleach to get a white persil would be proud of? it was a few years ago but it did work and went quick as hell too.
-
i wish i could find a lovely white pair these are nice don,t get me wrong but i NEED LILLY WHITE :idiot2:. i think its my c.o.d . kickin in
-
wish i had a talking fish. :LolLolLolLol:
try getting some peroxide from the chemist or hairdressing supplies shop and using neat cheap bleach. it should work as it has worked for many in the past.

see ur point. they're sweet... ;D wonder if I can do that with my red tuff's?
-
ask paul db250 we done a set of blue ones for his kuw they looked mental
-
can't believe anyone would consider painting Tuffs?! i should think most of us at some time have lost hours trying to scrubb off crappy old paint where someone did it in the past.
i can't see much wrong with them the way they are :-\
if you want em whiter then stick em in bleach for longer........painting tuffs is just wrong!

what was wrong with orange?
out of interest.........how many of the sets you've painted do you still have?
-
the paint neil uses is hard as fook!!
Any brake rub just cleans straight off
Painting is a last resort yes
But shouldn't be ruled out until you have seen the rusult with ya own eyes
People don't believe it when I say the ones I hot off neil are painted..
Not everyones cuppa tea I admit..
-
these were done for paul ..i have none i only paint 3 pairs . i ask jackie to sell me my old ones back but the bitch won,t :'(
-
then you've answered your own question i guess
-
what that they are so good jackie wants to keep them :4_17_5: agree total bummer
-
no........that you'll paint em
-
you are right . dont get me wrong i would have rather kept them unpainted but i need real white ones so i will paint them and sort of resto them in a fashion ..
i might be right i might be wrong . every one has diffrent opions . :daumenhoch:
sorry if i have upset any one by painting skyways but in the end they will look nice
i hope :-[
-
Perfect example of how things can get misinterpretated in txt dudes
-
there not done with a rattle can , i can understand peoples kneejerk reaction to 'paint' but this is as good as it gets and neil doesn't do 9 out of 10, so if its white the boy wants its either paint or £500 nossers ;)
-
Like others have said , bleach them longer .
They were'nt Dulux bright white when new though .
-
Nuts and bolts in the hubs. :daumenhoch:
-
dont know what steve p did with a set i sold him but they were a lot dirtier than yours and his came out proper mint. have a word first
-
am i typing in dutch again?
peroxide 12%
-
well i went ahead and painted them . and i think they look the nuts

Horses for courses mate, they were never painted bitd so I don't see why you needed to paint them now. Perhaps a media blasting rather than bleaching would have brought them up better. From your pics they looked like engrained dirt affected more than anything.
