If you can't make the Saturday then dont worry about it.   So long as you can make the Sunday then your in business.

This years regional at Crewe was one of the best regionals we've had in a while and gave the OS a good boost in the North.

We had some Southern Riders and a few newbies at this regional and all 23 riders enjoyed it.

Everyone is welcome and there are plenty of classes for the rest of you family!!  :daumenhoch:

Everyone do this!

I missed out on the Bob Field era but as far as I can gather he surely was the man and did massive amounts for UK BMX racing.

This event will be a biggy and some top boys are planning to race elite.

The track is fine for OS and it wont kick you up to the moon.  Preston has more kickers these days and everyone loved that.

Do it.  Race OS and then enter the grands as well just for the frisk of lining up against Bloomy and Phillips.

You may even get interviewed by roaming report Flem on the Moleski commemorative DVD!!

Southern boys - get yerselves up.  Saturday night will be messy!!

Imagine... this is the stuff dreams are made of.

Moley lining up against the top boys, the gate drops, Moley gets the snap of his life, 4th into the first turn, 5th into the 2nd, then...

Oh no, what, the elite rider in second has overshot the pro and taken the top three riders out.  Carnage!!

Moley is in 2nd place.  This is it.  Now or never!

He pumps that third straight to within an inch of life and he's still in it as he approaches the rhythm section.  He has to keep it now.  2nd would be amazing.

Then all of a sudden, almost like he's been struck by lightning he pulls a pick up manual at the start of the rhythm and he just pumps that baby through on his back wheel, picking up more and more speed as he goes.  As he touches that finish line it's too close to call.  The crowd goes wild and a photo finish is called.

The crowd is silent as the race ref studies the footage.  He lifts his arm and touches Moley's helmet.  He did it!!  He did it!!  He won the grands!

Girls run toward him desparate to touch the king.  Elite riders come to shake his hand.  He is the winner.

They'll make a Hollywood film out of this, mark my words.

All this could be yours people - just get yerselves there.  :D

Bumpety bump.

Remember - you do not need a licence for this event.  So for all the people put off by the costs of licences this year - get yourself to this event and try it out.

Yep - I'll happily film.

Of you could bring more bikes and I'll ride too ?!?

I'm toying with the idea of doing two classes as it is - Cruiser and Masters but I'm not sure my legs can take it.
Title: Re: Bob Field Grands OS Riders List at Crewe - 2nd August 2009
Post by: moley on July 31, 2009, 09:29 AM
But who will film?

If you want to race OS then I'll bring a bike and you can race JD!!!

Then he wont be lonely!!

I might be stuck up on a container filming so I'm not too bothered about racing!!

LMK and I'll bring one for saturday and you can take it with you on saturday night so that I dont have the hassle of taking it into the hotel and repacking the car in the morning!!  :daumenhoch:

Nah - only joking.

I could have been encouraged to make it the numbers in a full gate but not just for a couple of people.

I'll be tired enough as it is.  Last call for everyone else though!!!

P.s. - have you seen the grands elite rider list

This will be an AMAZING spectator event.

There is even a story going round that Dylan Clayton has built a bike up  ;)

Should be a great event for sure, looks like its just me and you then Moley.  :)

Me and my lad have recently joined the Wrexham BMX club (Wrexham Rebels) and the pro who teaches the class is Martin (OGGY) Ogden, was saying he will be there racing in the elite class - he also wants to give my bike a good thrashing round the track, poor bike wont know whats hit it.  :LolLolLolLol:

Cant make the Sat mate, that would require a two day pass, its hard enough getting a one day.  :knuppel2:

Matthew isnt quite ready to race yet, next year he will hopefully be up for it and he will be 11 then. He's a shy lad so he has to feel comfortable before he will attempt anything, the BMX club should give him more confidence.

Im also on a reasearch trip to see what bikes the lads use in the 11/12 class, will need to invest for next year. £££

P.S. Thats some rider list, holy shit.  8)

Last call for tomorrow.

It's all gone off goodstyle today and despite the weather it was top drawer.

Novice racing went down a treat with trophies all round.

No clips race was mint.  Can't tell you who won as I was too busy coming last.

Ash Davey took £42 for the pump race win and after a MASSIVE hi jump contest over the Crewe pro Ash Davey again took the £100 prize from C&K.com.  12 foot I reckon.

Loads of top riders are already there with more to come tomorrow.

See you then....

Bonza.

Had a great day even if I did get beat by a 12 year old  :LolLolLolLol:

It was good to meet you both Moley and Dexter, thanks for the banter and helping me to understand what was going on.

Crewe track is very scary and the level of tallent on the day was amazing, the Bob Grands Final was just mind blowing with Calum Strickland making an early charge to 2nd place to be overtaken on the last berm to put him in third place, the winner Marcus Bloomfield was just a display of sheer talent.

Pic of me and moley being beaten by the kids  ;D

Class picture.

If Jai was there sorry I didn't meet you.

JD and Moley - need to get a picture of your trophy up - that's one nice pot.

Rider numbers were too low  :( but elite was as good as it gets.  Bloomy and Phillips were dying as they crossed the line - that's how hard they tried.

Good to see Dylan back racing - he was mixing it with the young guns.

I loved Masters but got well and truly trounced.  More practice needed  ;D ;D ;D

I think those 12 year olds (maybe even younger) were smacked off their heads on Relentless!!

I might have beaten them but I was scared of falling on them and killing them if I had a major wobble!!

The Crewe track was harder than the regional.   I think the jumps were more lippy.  Either that or my hangover was affecting me!!

I had wobbles on every moto!!  :-\

Scary track for OS but a great laff!!

Glad you enjoyed yourself JD.  All other tracks in the North Region pale in comparison to Crewe.   Hartlepool is very rideable for OS.

The whole weekend was great!!

I'll get footage up in the next 2 days when I have sorted it all out!!  :daumenhoch:
