Title: some advice please
Post by: medved on November 27, 2009, 10:11 PM
i have a Haro Group 1 RS2 that i'm riding in the south winter series. i have ridden it quite a bit and would like to make some changes ( i ride it to work everyday as well as at the track occasionally)

now i'd like to giv the fat/thin tyre set up a go. currently i have comp 3s on that are 2.25 width (front and back)

i also have a 45/16 gearing and one piece cranks that i think the freewheel is starting to give up on me.

can anyone suggest a good replacement freewheel for my bike and some tires that will help reduce the rolling resistance whilst being true to the old school race series spirit?

1.75 Comp 3s were pretty standard front and rear in the mid 80s. I even ran a 1.5 on the rear for a while which was nearly as big, just slightly lower profile and fitted a 1.75 rim just fine (might have been a Comp 4). Shimano freewheel was good and fairly standard also.
