OK, here's a pic of my S&M Challenger.  I built this bike to race in the OS race series.  I've not really tried to make it era correct in any way, just chose the frame and fork that I really wanted/I thought would ride nice and put a mixture of old, mid and new school bits on it to try to create a machine that feels good to ride and has parts I won't worry about breaking.

Frame:  S&M Challenger
Forks:  S&M Challenger
Headset:  Chris King 1" threaded (designed specially for OS BMX bikes - unfortunately, it still comes loose!)
Stem:  DK shafted
Bars:  dialled bikes 8" rise (thought I might as well use my own bars)
Grips:  ODI Long Neck (mushroom pattern)
Brake Lever:  Shimano LX moutain bike lever (I hate old brake levers and this transforms an old school brake into somethng that feels less mushy and half decent)
Brake:  Odyssey Pitbull I
Seat Post:  Renthal (started life as a layback but I cut the bend off)
Seat Clamp:  Odyssey Posi-Stop
Seat:  Kashimax
Cranks:  Profile 180mm (unstamped versions)
Chainring:  Profile Imperial 44T
Chain:  SRAM single speed
Pedals:  Crupi Pro Round (always wanted Hutch Beartraps as a kid but couldn't afford them - still can't afford them - so these are the next best thing)
Wheels:  Skyway Graphite Tuffs (never had Tuffs as a kid, so had to have these new school versions on my OS race bike.  A truly iconic product)
Tyres:  Tioga Comp 3 (I remember when these were called Mitsuboshi Comp 3)
Numberplate:  THE (I'd like to find a nice UGP plate for this bike.  Or one of those BASE Brooklyn plates which had the map of the New York subway on it)

had del do me some retro ripper style decals for it. real happy with the outcome.

rides real nice too. bars are higher and wider than what i was used to and frame longer than the 18.9" i was riding but getting used to it real quick. love it.
