Odyssey have recently re-released their "Nightwolf" seats in black and grey, so I gave in to the temptation and have ordered a railed one. >:D

The Joetsu track opened up last weekend and Round 1 of their series is this Sunday, so hopefully I'll have something to report back on next week. :daumenhoch:

New School Racing / Re: Drivetrain Question - gearing up!
« Last post by Mikku on April 13, 2025, 07:02 AM »
Thread bump for an old but ongoing topic. ;)

Since my last post, some 7, yes SEVEN years ago, I’ve been two-ing and fro-ing between that 47/17 gearing and the classic 44/16, both of which have been fine. Then last summer’s trip to the US gave me the chance to scratch an itch that I’d been curious about – decimal gearing! I still don’t 100% understand the science behind it but liked the idea of slightly changing the gearing without changing the rear cog. I therefore picked up a 44.2 Rennen chainring which, when coupled with a 16T rear, gives a gearing in between 44/16 and 47/17. I haven’t had the chance to race much with this set-up yet but reckon it could be a happy medium. We’ll see. :daumenhoch:

Today's race has been rained off (again!!) but Joetsu should hopefully be opening up next weekend, so I may well head up there before the season opener on the 27th. :daumenhoch:

Old School Race (riders ready, pedals ready... GO!!) / Hersden reunion
« Last post by RATTY on April 12, 2025, 11:25 PM »
Talking to Humps today, I cant ride anymore, but I would love to visit Hersden again and perhaps a pint at Herne Bay afterwards? Anyone up for it?

Some used, magnesium-bodied, Wellgo pedals have just arrived. I bought them for my Quamen, only to realize that I already have some pedals set aside for that. ::)

They're a nice shade of dark grey, though, and super light too, so I may still use them on the Quamen or even give 'em a go on the Redline. :daumenhoch:

BMX Chat / Re: EBAY NEW SELLING RULES?

From what I read on the Inland Revenue website,it says bicycles are exempt from tax when sold on ebay as they are 'mechanical.
Also if you're just clearing out your old stuff out of the loft or de-cluttering then the Inland Revenue don't regard that as taxable either.
I believe the threshold is £1700 before ebay passes your details on to the tax man.

Yeah. TBH I would imagine they are targeting flippers.

I am a PC gamer. Have been for 30 years. Graphics cards at launch are now hot property, with some of them costing 2k retail. Problem is scalpers set up bots, buy them up and then flip on Ebay for double the price. And some idiot pays it. As such people are making like two grand tax free.

I also noticed recently that crab meat in tins is always sold out at like, Morrisons or Tesco etc. Some ahole then takes said crab meat costing 2 quid a tin and puts it on Amazon for 9 quid a tin.

thats just shellfish!

Your bikes were always more "as they should be", than mine were and you had a great eye for a great bike  :daumenhoch:
