My June attempt... :)

1984 Mongoose Eric Rupe Signature Edition :

Also...a bit of history on this one.  It is still being researched...but it is believed that this frame was owned and raced by the man himself in Australia.  Then given to a lucky individual after the racing had finished.

- 1984 Eric Rupe f/f
- Pro Class 3-piece crank set (white)
- Pro Class power plate blue with Sugino 44T
- Pro Class stem
- Pro Class bars 7 1/2" rise
- Pro Class Series III rim set with SR hubs (white)..."WHITE" rim strips
- NOS Cheng Shin
- NOS Viscount saddle with Goose stamped post
- Dia-Compe hinged seat clamp chrome
- NOS Hutch bear traps
- Mongoose flight pads
- NOS Dia-Compe 1000 brake
And...introducing Bill C.'s reproduction Mongoose grips in blue!

1983 Maximum XL (mine from new)

Spec

1983 Maximum XL Frame, original chrome and Raybeard decals
Tange TRX forks (i bent the originals years ago  :'()
Tange MX5 headset with Suntour Lock
Pro Class Rims onto GT Hubs laced with Asahi double butted spokes (Cheers to Jay Parker for selling these back to me when i was stupid enough to sell them in the first place)
Panaracer Knarler Knobbies Fat thin combo
Takagi 180mm 1PC with Tioga sealed BB (fancied doing a bike with 1PC for a change)
Shimano DX with original paint (this is a rider so didn't want NOS pedals on)
PPP powerdisc and CAM 44T chainring
Pro Neck Stem
Trident Pro Bars
Shimano DX Brake System
Ame Rounds
Elina lightning Bolt
Renthal Post
Suntour Seatpost clamp

I wanted to make this bike similar to something I would have built and ridden in 83 but also I wanted to make a bike with a Blue Red parts balance that works (this is the third attempt I've had at doing that  :))

And a few shots from BITD

Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!

Best way Rob. Though I'd vote for yours if you could enter it. Looks real sweet now with those WTP cranks.

not that it can go in as it's a new school bike....but i have rebuilt it changing

Bars
Brake levers
grips
seat post

cranks
headset
tyres
brake blocks (scraping the barrel now)  ;D

i'm thinking if you did that to an OS bike it would still count  ??? :-\

listen, the pads have now come off okay! and i know BOTM and BOTY are only for the OS and Mid.......all i said was i'm sure there are more than the odd one or two bikes listed over the last few months that have had less than what i've changed on mine, and that counts for a build??

anyways i've resigned to the fact that i can't enter my bike and you're all rubbish!!!!  so there!   :yahoo_silent:

 ;)
