Really old school hack picture
« on: August 15, 2005, 07:42 PM »
This picture is about 32 years old.  John Palferyman and Doug Takahashi were the early fathers of not just BMX but also sidehack racing.  To see them race is to have seen true art

JP and Tak way at the begining.

Check out the springer fork!

I think they also ran a shock absorber sissy bar back then.

JP and Tak also ran motorcycle hacks and were just as nuts.  They had a mighty crash at the old Hopetown GP and Takahashi was hurt.  Instead of stopping, the story goes that JP wanted to finish the race.  Intense!!
