To Restore... or not Restore...

It wasn't a bike though...
I received the bike as a Frame & Forks that were aerosoled a blue and green mix.
A set of flight cranks that look like they have been left outside since he got home from Canada in 1985, a set of GT Bars that were fit for using as a coathanger and a box of general parts that have obviously been sat in a garage since the early 90's...
The Frame & Forks needed stripping of the various layers of madness that Craig had applied during a moment or two of madness, a PERFECTLY restored frame with NOS decals (not repro!) would have looked kind of odd with rusty cranks and battered bars etc..??
You see where I am coming from? and with some parts missing I have had to source the bits Craig was running in 85.

Sorry Dave, didn't have the full story there mate - you said in the first post that you were restoring his actual 'bike', so I assumed from that that is was complete...

Sadly it didn't come to me to sort as a 'bike' ;D
The telephone conversation went something like this..
"Hi Dave, I'd like you to rebuild my 1985 'Worlds' bike... I have the Frame & Forks hanging in the garage and most of the bits off it are boxed up somewhere"
I'd have loved to see it in the same condition it was when he rolled over the line in Canada (warts and all >:D) but Craig aint the kinda guy that paid much love to his bikes and time had taken its toll on some bits.
