Pro class holes
Munnyella:
Can any one tell me the size of the holes in pro class rims? (or where I can get them from? :LolLolLolLol:)
I fancy doing a set of 48 hole proclass rims for my street rider, might have to do the holes smaller than 36ers though.

i wouldnt advise drilling 48s man esp if they are double wall rims mongoose pro class were just single wall arayas drilled i just restored a set i wouldnt like to try and drill a set of rims unles i had serious engineering facilities and you definitely dont want to drill the holes the same size as 36h pc rims on 48s they will just fall apart my advice is find something else to tinker with.

Didn't Fly Bikes and Proper do a pro-class style new school wheel?
Peter J:
Hole size should not make a big difference, 48 spokes will have better liner stress displacement that 36 and with the rim having a double wall it will help (a bit).....that said, it depends what the rims intended use is for.......and the overall mass placed on the rim......e.g are you a 6’ 2” chunky monkey !!! :crazy2:
I’ve done a set of 36's myself, although I used a £63,000 CNC miller.........handy if you've got one !!!! :2funny:
But It’s very easy to do a set manually..(you will need to de-spoke the rim)..will just take a while as to do it correct you’d have to “drill” each hole three times.....
I would go with a smaller hole simply because you have a smaller gap between the spokes and aesthetically it would look better. :daumenhoch:
Peter J:
That looks a nice sized hole.... :daumenhoch:
And you cannot beat a nice sized hole >:D
