I was wondering what you guys like and dislike in the world of oldschool bmx, for me personally bike wise I think Mongoose is at the top and Hutch at the bottom. I never saw the appeal of Hutch myself. Im not sure about anything else other than I didnt like Z rims and Sr stems on the burners. For me Tuffs just shout oldschool because they came out around that time and id seen nothing like that ever !!!! This is just my own opinion and not an attack on anyone lol

i like quads and rippers, with skyways.... everything else is for the bin....

I think most, if not all the quality stuff is nice from late 70's early 80's - race and freestyle. list is too long, but yeah skyway wheels I have a soft spot for as took me ages to save up to buy some bitd

Like a lot:
Anything that's a bit different to the norm and well made.
Tech developments, even if they didn't catch on.
Pretty much any Tange f&f & quality Jap built parts

Love it when a plan comes together.
keeping it RAD

Don't like so much:
Gold plated parts / bikes

Pastel colours.
Bad frame geometry.
Stupid prices.

sorry beard ,although your burners are a bit special and hold their own against any build,,when i mean burners i mean those god damn awful low end ones(most of them!!)

Any bike we ACTUALLY had bitd
Any bike we could touch in a proper friendly bike shop but probably could not afford bitd (Haro! Torker! Skyway! Quads!)
Araya & ProClass wheels
Silent greased to fook Suntour sprokets (how fookin old-school is that!)
Old school kickturn ramps, lashed-together quarters and dug-out quarters
Meeting up with you lot on a pish-up or at MK for well, a pish-up!
Haggling & swapping
Helping people finish builds off
Giving parts away (rarely but I have been known to do so!)

Oh and finally

Love THAT picture of Eva Gabrielle and the baby blue Quad (don't get me started on that subject!)

What's there to hate about Hutch bikes and parts , they made some nice looking stuff

They had a good team who worked hard touring the states

Great team riders (race) Toby Henderson , Timmy Judge , Mike Miranda (Freestyle trick ) Woody Itson , Mike Dominguez

The owner Richie Hutchins had an innovation and drive to match any other BMX brand

The magazine adverts were intresting like others

The logo is iconic , like others

They are a major essential part of Old school BMX , just like Skyway , GT, DB, etc

No valid reason , really

Is it just , "fook sake those hubs , stems ,pedals are dear , I'm not buying them ,,, so therefore they're sh11t

I don't think there's anything old school I hate , as it's all part of the scene

pretty much anything BMX, never used to like mid or new, wasn't my era, but feeling the vibe for both now.
I like `era correct' as a show piece, but love to see builds like we had them as kids, My DP (83) had parts from 82-95 on it! loved it!!

I also like lots of lager.

Dislikes

falling off, getting hurt, having my bikes nicked, not being able to ride, even just to get milk!

I also dislike not winning the lottery

Over polished mirror finished parts, no one i know did it bitd so why now?

Coloured tyres... yuk! amberwalls or plain black are acceptable anything else is just gay!

Tuffs on a rider, iconic product, look great... flexy as fook and horrible in reality

Hate on new school from peeps that know nowt about it, turn up at a skatepark with an old school bike and the young un's know nowt about them but love it, so why not the other way round?
