sounds about right..  ^"^

Picklez:
Summer of 81. Visited a friend who'd spent the summer in the US and came back with a Team Murray. That was it, I was hooked and after much pestering of the parents got my first BMX by Christmas 81 - Black and Yellow Iron Horse  ;D but loved it to bits.

33 years on, many bikes past, but still loving it  :smitten:

Yep, definitely a good thread resurrection!!  :daumenhoch:

My memory's fairly sketchy on this but I had a Grifter when BMX first started hitting our shores, or at least Dorset's shores! A few of the older kids in my town got the first ones and I ended up buying a 2ndhand (probably 3rd/4th-hand) Cycle Pro frameset with an assortment of parts from one of them. That must have been before seeing ET because that got me onto the Kuwahara bandwagon and the lust for a Laserlite, which was finally satisfied last year!

Doomchild:
In '79, my mum took us on holiday to Skegness. We hired a couple of bike, one of which turned out to be a Mongoose, Skyways and all, with a damn coaster brake on it.......well strange, for me.
