I am sure this has been discussed before, if so can someone give me the link please.
I am looking to change a 1/2 KKT lightning to a 9/16. can it be done? has anyone done it before?
NORTY40:
As long as you have the correct spindle , in your case 9/16ths it's not a problem . Bit fiddly but not hard , done it myself on MKS footjaws and Shimano SX/DX Can't see why the KKT lightening's would be any diferent :daumenhoch:
Unscrew the end cap , place a spanner on the pedal axle and unscrew the retaining nut on the spindle . Take the locating washer out and unscrew the bearing retainer . The ball bearings will probably be loose so just be careful . De grease and re grease and re build with the new spindles ..... jobs a good'un 8)

Once you have unscrewed the spindle retaining nut , located under the end cap the spindle will just slide out ;)
