Can one change a 1/2 pedals to 9/16?

Getting 9/16th spindles on there own won't be easy as most lads want the 9/16th's , stick a wanted thread up or buy some knackered 9/16th suntour pedals  ;)  Not sure what other spindles are compatible with the Suntour XC's , I know Shimano SX spindles will fit DX and im pretty sure Victor ones do too .

joe6187 does some reproduction axles for XCII's  ;)
