A bucket/container  with 3 inches plus of salt in the bottom, watch how the salt draws the moisture out of the air, after a fortnight or so the water will be above the salt ...

My bikes are in the cellar and Im also worried about damp (its my first BMX year so no history to go by).  I think ill try the above salt trick to see if there is moisture down there.   The walls are painted white and dont show any sign of damp, but it is very much a cellar..
