I'm looking at family cruise in Cleethorpes in the Summer, I had quite a positive response in Chester when I mentioned it, so I've done some research today.

From here we can cruise up the seafront and end up on the pier. The route is all disused road, tarmac cycleway or promenade. Ideal for kids! It takes in 4 pubs with large outdoor areas. Ideal for adults!

For those who are not into this sort of thing, I can offer the use of this place which is about a 10min ride away.

As the park closes at 5pm I looked at a short 2 mile 4 pub route, departing the park around 5:30 - 6pm.

I took the NS rider out to scope the possibility:

First a quick visit to the trails:

Then a quick stop at the Greenwich Meridian:

A look at the obligatory Lake Ride:

Thought of Kappy on the way round:

Before you hit the beach and the promenade:

If anybody fancies 18 holes:

Then a quick look at the end point, the pier:

Obviously checking out the hostelries en-route

For the evening, you can cast a net over all the bars and eateries, of which there are many.

Pleasure Island can take us any Saturday except the 28th July. Obviously August 18/19 is out for some reason

I need to get back to her pretty smartish, but it looks like a good plan for a family ride.
There are 2 holiday parks next door or if you want to book a B&B on Isaacs Hill you are about 200 metres from all the beach bars.

It looks fantastic Nick and a great ride today for you.

I have to hang fire on stuff at the min though as redundancies are looming at work and the selection process is about to take place shortly.

Apart from MK, are there any dates I need to avoid?
If not I will have a look at my work diary on Monday and get one or two possibles sorted

Why not get in touch with GYPO, they will be having thier summer jam at the dirt jumps, It looked pretty good last year live music, DJ'S stalls and flood lighting in the evening.

Well up for this - be good if a few stayed over the night too, done FA cup final weekend in Cleethorpes, as well as a stag do or two - it's a right laugh

Right, I've been looking at the dates available.

Taking into account:
Radchester (both possible dates)
Bournemouth (June 3)
Cleethorpes Scooter Rally (Jun 23)
London-Brighton (Jun 29)
Pleasure Island not available (July 28)
MK12 (August 18/19)

This leaves July 14 or July 21.

I can't please everybody on this one but will take a straw poll.
