I use clear pads on my haro, they work great with skyways but squeal like fook
Comes in quite handy though on the London rides as you don't need a horn to shift people out of the way ;D

don't forget to 'toe' the pads in either,(front of the pad hits the rim first)..... otherwise all pads will squeel a little

Not on powdered rims though, they get too hot and melt the powder, locking your brakes on.
i speak from experience!!
Great on my ally wall rims though.

Cheapo Clarks black blocks from Halfords are plenty good enough if your brake is set up properly and won't make that bastard noise. You can expect the brake to feel a little less sharp though, this goes for all pads that aren't clear - hence why clear pads came to be in the first place.
