i use a good insulation tape

start at the opposite side of the valve hole,  go round once close to the rim wall as possible, then around again as close to the other side of the rim wall as possible then once around the middle and end where you started

then to open up the valve hole i use a multi screwdriver tool, the tool's end is the same size as the valve hole, just screw it through and it cuts out the insulation tape perfectly :daumenhoch:
