What the hell will get powder off?

ive tried paint stipper, blow torch, caustic soda $ sulphic acid.  ive some how managed to get a layer of what seems to be plastic coating, but underneath it still wont budge, im chuckin rattles all over the place....HELP   :2gunsfiring_v1: :2gunsfiring_v1:

gasket remover, interesting, thanks :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: ive removed powder with nitromoors in the past, but under the plastic layer, it does seem to be like a glued on rubber substance, like a gasket  :daumenhoch:

Not all gasket removers will work, I know Permatex will but you may have to experiment.

my local shop has in stock somethin called 'GET YOUR GASKET OFF' says its strong and in a spray, does anyone think its worth a go?   :daumenhoch:

i always use a heat gun and a sharp blade to get any real hard powder off.
takes ages but it comes off.

I must be a loon then  :D I have used Oxy/actelene before  :uglystupid2: have also used a wire wheel on a drill or grinder . But make sure u use goggles cos the wire is foookin dangerous if it ends up in ur eyes  :'(

I have stopped bothering these days Rich, makes me laugh though when somebody asks the spoke length question, gets rubbish advice from people and then 2 weeks later up pops a thread asking why the spokes they have bought are too long.
