First off - I have to give respect to those crazy lads at RaleighBurner.com for this:

For this you will need the follow items: 1 large bucket (B&Q or other), Some scouring pads and detergent, 1 container of table salt, 2 small tins of Dylon yellow No.2. 1 pair of rubber gloves!

Here it is in stages: This is what they looked like before I started

a) Start by cleaning your wheels, I found out at the end that the better your preperation is the better the final results will be. Therefore I would suggest that your scrub out any small marks and blemishes at this stage (also clean the inside of the hub with a toothbrush to get all the crap out + I would also recommend that you remover the spindles bearings and degreese the whole wheel.

b) leave them to soak for at least a couple of hours in hot soapy water:

c) Then dump all the water and give them a quick rinse off, Refill the bucket with hot water (a mixture of tap and boiled) Then empty the two Dylon tins and plenty of salt ( I pre mixed this in a seperate jug of boiling water, and added about half of the salt).

d) Turn the wheels and stir the liquid every 10 minutes for about an hour, then I just let them sit in it over night. I don't know if they need this long but it was getting late.

And in the morning:

Have fun!

A few of the lads on The Burner Forum have undertaken this and they have had some AMAZING results...

Others have tried bleaching White Mags that had yellowed... Again... AMAZING results!!

ORB:
Dave Giller has been doing this for ages ;)
