without paying for anything
Guys and Gals,
I recently picked up a Hutch Trickstar in a trade deal but do not want to go down the usual route with putting it together and want to add a old/mid/new school flavour to it
What I am after is your suggestions on some parts and would like you all to get involved as much as you want.
So, to get things rolling, the frame and fork is an '85 Trickstar in candy blue. I felt I had three options on the colour of parts to put on it, Gold, Silver or Chrome. After looking around at a few NS parts and getting some great help and info off Glen, I have gone with a few chrome items.
Frame and Fork. The seat clamp will not be staying as I have chrome Suntour to go on it.
The crank set is a 2000/1 we the people setup which have been chromed. I picked these after being advised of their strength and durability but, it came with a mid BB. I'm stepping into unfamiliar territory with this so will need your help straight away
Firstly, I think I'm right in assuming that the axle is 19mm. If so, can I buy cups for the bearings to fit into for a US BB or do I have to buy a complete 19mm US BB?
I have also picked out the rim and hub set based on some good advice, Primo SOB 48H Sealed Hubs and Odyssey Hazard Lite Rims in Chrome.
It will have a standard chrome Tange MX-2 headset with a chrome Tange headlock to keep the fork in place.
I will be running a rear brake only and need some suggestions on where to start. I'm not sure whether to run a gyro or standard rear cable
Advise on a rear caliper and lever setup is also needed I think guys please
Was thinking one of these??
