Half link chains will stretch more, due the the side plates (which are cranked) `straightening' out.
They look good, in certain circumstances, weigh more, generally cost more and as said above, can be more fiddly to fit.
We trialed half link chains on the conveyor drive units we used to make, made the pitching more flexible, but the tensioning was dire after a bit due to stretch, ok, these chains were big old fookers, but the stretch was more than evident.
Stick with a std chain is my advice
