Shimano DX Pedals restoration advice

I have just purchased a set of black Shimano DX pedals. I am getting them blasted and redone black but wanted to know if they were originally anodised or painted? Its hard to tell from the original coating that’s left on them. Thanks all!  :D

Thanks for sending me that picture by the way, but i've managed to find some blue beartraps to rip my shins to pieces on.

Cheers though for all the trouble you went too.

They were coated.

Get em sanded back to how they are meant to be and powder away.
