Seatpost won't go in -haro gen 1 / gt layback ****`SORTED*****
adammannering:
Goes in I say a couple of inches then it just stops man ! It stops !
Have tried wd40 but the frame starts getting HOT - not good
What is correct size seatpost for a gen 1 ?
Many thanks chaps
griff:
hot? what are you doing to it?
is it rusty inside or thick paint?
Dannywhac:
You chaecked for weld blobs/shrinkage inside the seattube where that plate that goes around the seattube? Maybe the frames been repaired and the tubes been 'knocked in' a bit by the reweld?
Also you should use grease not WD40 on seattubes. WD40 sucks the balls etc unless you're using it for a bit of cleaning - as it's not a lubricant.
chubby:
Is the remains of an old post in there still :chin:
kungfunky:
Not the best way to install a seat post..
