duty charges

<< < (3/4) > >>

chubby:
I've just received an email from ups tracking saying there's import duty due on a frameset from the us.
Sellers clearly marked gift & $ 40 value on the forms .....WTF !!!

Gnarlyscoots:
Have you got a picture of the form on the front of the parcel buddy?

If HMRC deem the address that the package has sent from is a COMMERCIAL address they can charge VAT and handling REGARDLESS of what the value says and whether GIFT has been ticked. You can contest it but you need proof that it IS a gift from the seller and not merchandise.

Devilock:
As Nick says there is that to consider.
It's a lottery; sometimes it makes no difference what is indicated on the form.

chubby:
Forgot all about this 😆😆
Piccy of the form the seller sent

Ain't the best pic mind
