Pre serial Hutch Exper Racer - Project Budget Hutch
fatalan:
As promised... Heres the frame. Went with black base coat with purple flecks and a shiny lacquer. Apologies for photographing nearly every small event but I want to make sure that this gets finished... everyone works better under pressure! This thread will probably be a long one.
The frame today..
Drop outs
And Im on the lookout for some reasonably priced forks.... :D
CustardLips:
That's a funky looking paint job. :slayer:
Like BMX1973 says... Tange forks are your best bet and shouldn't be too difficult to find. :daumenhoch:
BMX1973:
To keep cost's down you could go with a one piece crank. :) Although I'm biased as most people know on here I have never built a bike with a 3 piece. ;D :daumenhoch:

Its all about the money on this one.. I know it might seem a bit of an odd choice to go budget and hutch but the idea of throwing money at a project doesn't really appeal to me. I dont have money to throw at a project is one of the main reasons that idea does not appeal!
BMX1973 - I think I am very likely to go the opc route. I'm kind of working on the basis that I want to build it up first. I could perhaps but some nice parts on once its usable. I prefer riding with an OPC but a nice 3 piece is a thing of beauty.
CustardLips - I have put up a wanted ad. I do like Tange stuff. Always looks nice. As long as it fits and looks right (and is safe) I'm good with it! Who knows.. I might find some cheap undrilled Hutch forks one day.... "nono"
Im going to have to go with layback seat post and some sort of far reaching stem so that I might actually ride it. I don't really want to go with bars pushed right forward.
BMX1973:
Better off with a lay back seat post if you need the leg room. I always use one on my riders. :) Don't lean the bars too far forward as you will then be leaning over the bike. It will not feel right. :daumenhoch:
