AME grips ???
Andyboy77:
...and I thought the museum offers answers. Why can't people who sell stuff call it what it is?
But now I got it! In case I'll run into problems still, then it serves me right! :LolLolLolLol:

Repops have the old bubble font, but two times - at either half of the flange, is that right?

No. those are known as 'double bubbles', they are still eighties . original= bubble font repop= new font :daumenhoch:

^ yes, i forgot to mention the above. Some have 2 sets of logos, others have 1. It's the style of logo writing that dates the grips. I think the sharper/new logo came into use in the early 1990's and has been used ever since.
**be careful though, as a'me cam grips and a'me unitron grips have old style bubble fonts, even though they are repops/re-issues. The new re-issue unitron grips have an 'R' moulded into the grip flange to indicate they are repro. This can easily be sanded/smoothed out to make them look like originals.
Andyboy77:
Thanks for the hint! :daumenhoch: Unitrons look cool sometimes, as you have two colours to play with. But I'm looking for white A'ME Rounds with one flange. My originals are dirty and have almost a consistancy of bubble gum. I have Tri's now (double bubbles - as I know now) but they don't feel as good as the old Rounds.
What are these rumours of one or two logos about then, if it's the style of writing that dates them?

I dont know why some have 1 logo, and others have 2 (the double) ones. The bubble font ones (single or double logo) are all 80's. I don't know if the single logo ones were earlier/later than the double logo ones, or if they were made around the same time

That's it what was talked about - one logo were earlier than the ones with two logos. Let's see, maybe I put an A'ME timeline on my to-do list. Unless it's not a hopeless endeavor.
