SKYWAY - PLASTIC HUBS
Steve P:
Has anyone tried to modify Tuffs with plastic hubs and made flange plates like those used on the new CF's
I'd like to adapt something similar to the front Tuff on this . . .

Rombloke:
yes steve, i breifly tinkered with one before, with not a lot of success, if i had put a bit more effort into it im sure somthing decent would have come from it, i know that muttley mentioned doing this to, its do-able, and i have a pair of red tuffs just like that which would benefit from a nice alloy hub on the front
hehe

Steve P:
So what did you do Dave . . . modify an original hub flange to fit over the top. I reckon it's easily do-able too ;)
Steve
Dr Skyway:
Steve, I reckon it would be pretty simple to do too.
But you will ideally need to recess the five inner spokes so that the hub sits flush with the wheel, then just clamp up with the fixing bolts.
Just out of interest how thick are the inner spokes????
Have had a thought of how to do this before, just waiting for some old rims to arrive from the states then I'll be in my workshop :D
MartyC:
Wasn't there a thread on vbmx that showed how the guy made the gold campy type ones? I think those ones are glued on using clear silicone sealant and are desgined to cover the plastic "spoke".
