OK this has been posted before but when it was built a bit more new school. I rebuilt it a while ago with more midschool parts and finally got a plate for it the other week so here you go the finished artical what do you think?

I bought the frame a couple of years ago and knew I liked it the first time I rode it but it took me about a years worth of tuning and parts changes to get it to ride 99.5% the way I would like it to. The big problems I had to over come were the low front end height (frame has a 3" headtube) and the long rear triangle these combined to make the bike heavy on the front end when speed jumping (I know speed jumpings old school but it's the way I ride old dogs new tricks etc).





Brief parts list is

Leary Ditwerx Pro frame with 20.5" top tube
Answer Pro Forks (big tyre to crown gap helped get the front end raised up, so front comes up easier)
TNT Pro Stem
20mm of stem spacing (makes the 3" headtube just about back to a 4" normal size)
S&M Pro Race Bars (Nice old school 28"x8" size)
ODI longnecks (clamp ons so no movement in the wet)
Dia Tech MX2 Brake Lever
Odyssey A Brake (Allowed me to move the wheel right to the front of the dropouts, so front would lift easier, and use the original cable guide because they can actuate from either side)
Odyssey Chromo Command Post (the height I run the seat alloy ones just bend)
TNT Derringer Hubs
Araya Super 7X
TNT Cranks 185mm
Sun Ringle Pedals

PS If anybody can give me the name of some really long race style chain adjusters I would appriciate it as the Primo ones I have to use at the moment are just plain industrial (TNT and Profile are too short)

That is really nice! I see what you mean about the chain tensioners though! Crupi do some nice ones, and (if you can find them) so do VG and JP.

Ive always fancied one of these frames.

Ive got a set of long tensioners on my GT, i'll have a measure later.

Lee, those tensioners look good I would appiciate it if you measure yours.

Those frames come up on ebay in America once in a while and never make good money (yet) so if you fancy one get yourself a bargin, I payed £50 shipped for that one NOS and I saw one that Rich Haney had earlier in the year (frame and forks with decals on) not sell at $100.

i like the forks to ,need a set for my pro stock frame then i can lend it out for race days.

Dan, I was a bit worried about the forks at first with them been ally but I've had them on neally a year now and had no probs with them (and you can take the top caps off to inspect the fork legs for bending, cool)

Got those ones 2nd hand off here for £25 (cheers Fuzzynod your a star)

While I'm on parts credits got the pedals off Laz at a good price as well cheers mate

Ive put the sizes in “mm” on.
46mm of useable travel.
As you can see from the pic of my bike, they are pretty long..
My drops arnt that short but I’m still using the closer of the two bolt holes.

I'll keep an eye out for a frame

46mm looks like it will just work so I'll get onto them about getting a set as they are pretty much the type of design I want as well. Cheers for that matey

Stodgy, Yup had a bit of a TNT thing going on when I rebuilt it but I wish they had made the seat post clamps as nice as the 1" versions the bigger ones are  big old lumps.

Hey Stidds nice to hear from yer mate, can defo recommend the Pro size, just the right size for me, but I know they did two bigger sizes XL and XXL so be careful which one you get.

And no buying any gold larma? race gear to go with it now

Dirtwerx was Harry Leary or he had something to do with it ??

Hey Matt, Dirtwerx was Harry Leary's company from 1995 to 2000 but I believe the frames were made by Boss to his design.

It's not suprising it didn't last as a company though when he was charging $375 for a frame and most other cromo frames were priced around $200 - $250 and the best ally frames only just tipped the scales at $400.

Very nice finish on it though and you've gotta love the disco decals.
