hi mate i have a ad990 brake jay  :daumenhoch:

Obbie:
Question is were is the brake sitting ? On the chain stays or seat stays ? I run 30-11 with an ad990 on the chain stays with a low profile bolt from billys bikes and thats ok .
If your brake is on the chain stays it should be no were near the chain but if it is on your seat stays then your gearing is to big not to small what meens that your brake is on the angle and your chain is catching were the blocks go on the brake ? If so it probably doesn't mater what brake you get you may still have the problem .
What bike have you got  ? Any pics of this problem ?

Fly brake is well low. The new evolvoer looks lower and there is also a new delelition brake that looks low. The brake rub is why most frames have the brake at the top (under the seat stay) now. Frames like flys and S&M LAF have been well thought out and you can still run the brake on the chain stay with small gearing. I had a frame that the chain rubbed on the brake and I just cut a patch of old tyre and zip tied it to the brake bolt. It also stopped the cranks from spinning on no footers!
