Whats is the best way of fitting a bottom bracket

I dont want to damage the sealed bearings or cups.  I was thinking about putting them in a vice and gently squeeze them in.  The last set I fitted I banged them in with a hammer and a piece of wood, but I did put a few marks in the bearing cups.  Whats is the best way to do it without causing any damage?

I use the vice method for sealed bearings. Just make sure yoiu have something soft accross the jaws, like a towel or something.

I would also consider a local bike shop ( hopefully with a guy you know working there / competant (sp) mechanic ) for BB's & Headsets .

best way is to make a pair of aluminium softjaws for the vice, so that when you tighten the vice the aluminium will squash first as its softer  :daumenhoch:

massive hammer in each hand

when i nod my head, hit it
