1995 Holmes: My first "build"
« on: January 03, 2007, 11:46 PM »
This is the first BMX in 25 years of doing it, that I've built NOT to ride. Very strange!

Going quite well. Just gotta get seat, seat post, clamp, grips, and a lever (Oh, and a handle bar pad). The 990 is on the way.

Green Holmes .... like this one?

I got the frame, forks, bars, seatpost, pads, grips and 994 brake for a mate from S&M in 1994 and I built it for him using 80s parts I had kicking about. Last year he gave the bike back to me and now I want to replace the 80s parts for 90s parts. Anyone wanna buy some areo wheels and a proneck stem?

Lovely Alex - are you looking for one of those saddles with loads of little S&M logos all over?

I deff am looking, have you got one? I have found a race one with the big S&M logo on it (that is still great) but I also want one with the little logos.

Brings a tear to my eye, reminiscing about better times! Alex Leech, Fakie wallride on the cover of BMX Now (remember?) :'(

By the way Alex, do your slams have the original dancing man on them?

"Fakie wallride"? That was a Fakie Smith grind, I think you'll find!!!! ha ha. I have got the pic somewhere, I will try and post it.

Yes, The slams on the chrome Holmes do have the dancing man but some of the colour came off the sticker when i cleaned the rust off them.  I have got some of the man stickers so I can always put a new one on. The bars on the green holmes are the same shape slams, with the man sticker too.
