GT Performer forks not looking so good........
mivvi:
Well an update on my last post about the knackered threads on my forks. Argos the frame repairers won't do them, said the threads are too badly damaged. They suggested welding a new steerer on, this was mentioned by others on here. Seems its my only choice now apart from trying to get another set. They are so easy to find, not! So if I manage to get an old set of forks to take the steerer off, does anyone on here do welding? The guy who done my frame didn't have a clue, not going back there? :'(

now's your chance to make them 1" threadless !!!!
oberonspacefruit:
or shove a pair of nu skool forks on top and make em 1 1/8
oberonspacefruit:
i can weld them btw, but i would be your last resort, as i am not very reliable.

Hey, Oberon your not really selling me your services there are you, lol. Don't know what to do to be honest, think I will buy a welder and have a go myself. It can't be that hard to weld, can it? I can solder, just a bit more powerful, lol. So if anyone has an old set of forks they don't want as I just need the steerer tube. Cheers!
