I think some people have a strange idea as to what NOS means?

still Nos though? tis an accurate description in my book.
if i advertise something then i would put is as Nos and then describe any storage/deterioration marks etc..
think their just being honest!

on this one,nos dosnt mean mint, but the stuff is new and unused.
i dont actually think the stuff was mint in the eighties,so it aint got much chance after sitting on a shelf for 25years :LolLolLolLol:

i agree with johnathon and fat bastard winnet, though he might think it stands for nackered old stock!?!?

This is a great chance for me to apoligise to Winnit publically. I got some NOS Ukais off him about 6 months ago when i 1st started collecting again. They turned up and were a little scratched but you could tell they had never been used. I gave him a bollocking and thought he was taking the piss but since i have been collecting and getting more parts i have realised the score and that NOS means that it may be a little worn looking cos the parts are over 20 years old! Sorry again Winnet. ;)
theRuler:
nos means unused, in the bag / box
not "fitted to show bike only" or "only built up once"
that's more like VGC, or "as new"
those skyway cups in the rudewheels ad are NOS though, by definition
dannyboy:
i got hold of a supertuff burner frame out of a shop in windsor been on the wall for 20 odd years sold it to someone on r buner .co.uk as nos but it had a few rust spots on it those burners are shitty welding aint they ;D but it had never been built up just moved around the shop for years but jezza was happy with it
anyway
back to the burner:
well thats cleared it up for me i thought it ment NITROUS OXIDE :LolLolLolLol: i class it as New Off Shelf, but that doesnt always guarantee its mint. i work in the motor trade and we can order a new panel and it may have been sat on the shelf for so long that its got surface rust on it, and we get them all the time that are damaged. so basically it dont mean squat to me NOS. thats why i call it nitrous ;D
